Hi all

i have a JD6195M that i'm going to use with a couple of heavy mounted implements. The tractor has a full row of 18 waffers/900kg on the nose (no front linkage) but the front wheels still bounce up at the slightest bump when turning at the headlands with a 5 meter mounted lemken heliodor. i reckon 200-300kg more would do.

What options do i have? Is there some sort of extension available that would allow me to add more waffers, either to the side or in front of the existing ones? Front wheel weights? Water in the front wheels?

They do a 1200k block I think it is

ben burgess manufacture a weight extension box moves your weights forward and gives you somewhere to keep spares or fill with extra weight. Fraction of cost of a front linkage sorry am on holiday or would post a picture of ours on 6215r

My 8050 has extensions that bolt into the frame/body for another set of weights split between both sides of the nose

would love to see some pictures of your setup

Front linkage probably the best solution. I would imagine there is a limit to how much weight the tombstone can handle.

good point, i wonder if the tombstone could handle more weight

i don't have a front linkage, unfortunately

i tried looking that up online but with no success. sounds like a good idea though...

I’ll get better photo tomorrow but you can kind of see one half the extended frame in that photo

Bigger tractor or smaller implement.

Weight blocks tend to be around £1 / kg so one of them big blocks will be £14-1500 I’m guessing.

You can get a front linakge for £500 more to move your existing weight forwards, and it’d be an awfull lot more versatile and easier to drop the weights on and off.

Second hand front linkage would be best as you’ll move the centre of gravity forwards and can put as much on as you need to. And drop it off quickly when you don’t need it.
