Do points mean prizes?
I did my sprayer tests about a year ago and although NRoSO was mentioned, I don't recall it being compulsory to either join NRoSO or gain self improvement points. Perhaps someone could enlighten the ignorant as to why the urgency to gain points?

If you are a member of SQC (Scottish Quality Crops) Which you have to be if you sell grain,OSR ect Then the person spraying those crops must be registered with nroso .

Have let my points drop. Any suggestions how to get some soon as poss.

Get in touch with Agrii I think they had a February date for one of their half day courses, I was on it a few weeks ago, still by far the easiest way to gain your 10pts you need per year rather than faffing about with 2pts here n there, half day 10pts job done and normally get lunch provided as well

Thanks for replies. Got my TFF and agronomist ones.
Can I get some for attending sprayer MOT?
Think you can get 3 for standing next to the spray tester.
If the correct sheets have been signed and you can find them you can submit some previous years spray mots.
Also you can backdate some agronomist meetings so you can get the maximum allowed for the year and indeed the 3 years if you backdate them far enough.
Never bother with any NRoSO points here, just pick up the yearly 10 from the Jan meeting. Seeing as they have upped the price of these meetings I could probably do 1 in 3 years and pick up my points elsewhere - but I do like getting out one morning a year :woot:

We don't have to pay a pesticide tax, due to G.Brown's benificence, we then get Gov't dole money foisted on us. The least we can do to demonstrate our gratitude is reassure the public that we are responsible sprayer operators by getting Nroso points, and proving that our sprayers are tip-top condition by paying for an annual test. There will not then be any nasty food scares to worry about.
So the story goes.
Don't shoot the messenger, I'm only helping you to understand why this "crock of sh!t" exists....

I've done the exam and am qualified to use a self propelled sprayer, although I don't want to and never will do. The sprayer has new nozzles and is calibrated and tested. I strongly object to giving jobs to the boys for what I do, which is what I've done since I was 14 years of age, which was back in the late 1960's starting with a Vigzol sprayer with a copper-looking internal tank with brass nozzles.
They can stuff their Noroso where the sun don't shine!
Another five years or less and I'll let the weeds run riot anyway and let the land revert to as it was in the 19th Century, producing next to no food for the nation's ungrateful degenerates. Just wish everyone would do the same. Let the barstewards eat cake!

Pesticide tax was never reality - if a government wanted to tax they would regardless - tax is about raising revenue not changing behaviour. Tax was the stick the NFU used to justify the need for all this at the time - we were sold a pup laden with agenda imo and not a thing can be done about it now

The way it’s going a tax might have been a cheaper lower hassle option anyway !
