I have masses of buttercups growing in my horse paddocks, could anyone point me in the direction of the right spray to kill them off with, thank you x
Thank you for your reply!! Am I right in thinking that I can spray first to kill them and then test the ph and lime accordingly to sort the acidity levels?Waste of time fertilising if the ph is too low, which it probably will be. I bought a 6ac pony paddock like this and got it back round with lime and FYM.
MCPA & 2-4D will kill the buttercups but they'll be back before too long if you don't address the underlying issue.
Yes, and I would do that as soon as possible.Thank you for your reply!! Am I right in thinking that I can spray first to kill them and then test the ph and lime accordingly to sort the acidity levels?
Yes. Get it tested, lime accordingly. Once the pH is above 6.5, start thinking about fertility. If it’s really bad though you may be quicker and easier just glyphosating the whole lot and starting again, but get the pH right first.Thank you for your reply!!
