So.....

Always been into sports and was playing rugby for many years till I was 22, standing 6ft 3 21 stone fairly ripped. Interest waned as the sport got boring and work and social life took over more and more.

Moved to kickboxing and spent a few years fighting and weight dropped down to around 19 stone strong then but got bored as I had fewer people to fight with lightweights.....

I went into grecko wrestling and doing some mixed martial arts, was helping a friend work at cattle when I took a slap to the knee, still unsure of what it was but I was told by stupid doctors I had done cruciate damage etc and that iv never do sports.

Soi got fat went to around 30 stone fat piece of crap after I left a job in England and came home again, new gym locally started and I was blessed to meet a guy who helped me turn around my life in a way. Starting to train classes and weights and started to get strong but always had a fear of my knee so avoided heavy squats.

So....doing what I thought was right until my first strongman exposure came meeting a former WSM and he asked me down to train at his gym met another guy and boom suddenly my gym changed. The weight fell off me to a point i reached 151kg and was starting to feel i was strong.

My first night doing proper weights I managed 190kg deadlift 85kg bench and 140kg squat.

Currently squatting 310kg deadlifting 320kg benching 190kg and still going up.....plus i now weight 173kg and never felt better!!

twice top 2 strongmen in Ireland compete this weekending in Scotland as well

Il do a bitta updating if people wanna know more but just wanted to add this so people can see the progression

Impressive stats @Andyrob ... always a "sensitive" subject, but natural?

yea, but to make the step to the next level it is almost required

Being 21 stone and ripped at 22, surely this is a typo? Experienced Champion bodybuilders are only around 18 stone with a super low body fat.

Re Read the commnet yea 21 stone 3% body fat but at 10-14% your body is still ripped and strong when a bb is 3% they are weak as hell.

Next door neighbour has been walking round like a dog with two wotsits recently, and regularly giving us links to sites and youtube vids - his son has just won the UK bodybuilding championship. Having met the bloke I certainly wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of him.
