Was talking to someone local the other week about 63 and he remembers a local vicar losing his car in a snow drift. A local firm came down the road with a big plough on some sort of all wheel drive wagon. They couldn’t locate it until it was ploughed onto the top of a drift at the side of the road about 8 ft high.

When we were in Chamonix got speaking to a guy in a bar, not a woman as usual!.

They were clearing deep snow out a car park with a loading shovel and dumping snow in river. Turns out a fiat cinquecento is a perfect fit in the bucket! Didn't notice it till it was tipped in river.

In 1978 the lanes were level full with snow here which eventually froze hard enough to carry a tractor but we later had to settle a big claim for denting the roof of a VW Golf.
