New basic Tractor choices?

You have a Case dealer near you? Where? NH dealer is busy your way and while not near, must be 40 or more miles on a round trip nearer than the Case dealer, if I’m thinking of the right one. Same tractor, different colour.
That took you a while to figure out! ;) The case came from Riverlea in Crymych. Alan Rogers had quoted me and was a lot cheaper than the NH dealer (as in a few k). The NH dealer came back several times reducing his price and in the end came to within 1k of Rog's price but we decides that being Rog had given his best price first time we'd support him. We have bought a couple of NH since (they must have learnt their lesson) but went back to case and A&M this last time because of a huge price difference for what is as you know pretty much the same tractor. You quoted us for an MF back in 2003 but again the price wasn't competitive compared to the case (or NH) and your boss at the time had a big pwdi (sulk) and has hardly talked to me since. His loss as he doesn't even get asked to quote for anything now.

Prices between brands can vary significantly over time. There were periods when MF were very competitive and periods when they were out by thousands like for like. Which must mean that other brands have a similar cycle in reverse.
I’ve not known him to pwdi particularly, because we all know that there’s the possibility of next time, which may be very soon for something or other. As with life, some people get on with each other better than others and we live with that. Also there are some days where it is a struggle to be ‘serchog’ to anyone and we just wish everyone would go away. You surely have those kind of days? Ideally a person would keep out of sight of others on those days, but work doesn’t often allow that luxury.

We all have off days of course and I can put up with a bit of pwdi but the final nail for me was when I wanted to buy a part from him one day. I had bought a new shear grab from him and after a couple of years use the Rams popped their ends out. It was out of warranty no question, I just wanted to buy parts. As it happened he himself answered the phone and after saying what I wanted he stated that mc hale shear grabs didn't have snap rings holding the ends on (ours did) and that they all had threaded end caps. He then went on to say I probably had another make from another dealer and was just trying it on. He talked to me like a lump of sh!t that day. I didn't say too much back at the time because I wanted to double check I was right, which I was. That's no way to talk to customers, good day or bad, pwdi or not.

Oh dear! He does have the knack of rubbing people up the wrong way sometimes.
Thank goodness its nothing to do with me.

David Tunstall has imported them both unofficially and officially!
The first ones probably almost twenty years ago with I think a nod from SDF at Barby, then from a dealer in Holland I think, and now with the blessing of SDF in Italy through SDF UK at Barby again.
I don't think they could stand by and ignore the volume of Hurlimanns he was shifting, especially up here in the north!
As for the question about the cab, it's very airy and modern with an excellent field of view with brilliant aircon:)

Cab is inherited from Deutz which fitted its ancestor cab to the very first Agrotron. It has amazing visibility and a very large glass area. Can get hot in sunny weather. The colour coding on the levers inside are very bright and not to everyone's taste but overall that cab is a very good place to be.

The cab fitted to the tractor pictures has no heritage from Deutz. It’s derived from a cab originally fitted to a Deutz Agrofarm / SAME Explorer 3, all built in Treviligio. Wider, better among other refinement, a very nice cab to be fair.

The tractor transaxle is Same, of course it is, but it is the cab that was specifically asked about and that is obviously a Deutz Agrotron style cab, not a traditional Same based cab.

What's the engine? I guess that the smaller ones get the Farmpower unit while bigger models get Deutz power?

May be you might be imaging that pwdi was thinking low of you / i try to see the good in every thing and maybe you anxiety over having a broken machine might have might have caused pwdi to have a slightly cautious approach towards you and if we all speak to one another with less anxiety we will all get along much better

For the less fortunate among us, 'pwdi' translates as 'sulk'.
Its a quite pointless thing to do and quite stressful I imagine. Pretty sure we all know someone who does and no doubt some posters here are prone to it.
Life's too short for that kind of nonsense.

I specifically answered regarding the cab and it is a Deutz Agrofarm (yes I accidentally wrote Agrotron) and SAME Explorer3 derived cab. I can assure you it is a SAME designed and built cab in Trevilgio and has nothing to do with Deutz Agrotron, Lauingen built cabs.

The 5G series (~ 80 hp up to 120 hp IIRC) is FARMotion, the 5 series (100 - 125 hp) is Deutz Ag engine, both use the same cab and “group” (SAME derived) transaxle. Obviously you would pay a premium for the Deutz engine, but good reports from the FARMotion engine, quite a refined engine.

If it looks like an Agrotron cab, then its design is obviously based on an Agrotron cab. Its family resemblance is unmistakable. There's no way anyone could mistake it for anything else, inside or out. Where its made or even who actually fabricates doesn't matter in the least.

Personally I would not pay a penny extra for a Deutz engine if the Farmotion engine is economical simple reliable and a good performer. Why would I? The badge?
