New battery drained quickly

I know the answer to this but I'll just check.

Brand new battery fitted to a machine in June. Engine last started on 29th June but machine hasn't moved since battery fitted. Machine has a GPS tracker on it which I know is a constant drain on battery each day. Went to move it today and not even a flicker on the dash, like it had no battery fitted.
Tracker ran out of info on 6th Sept which is just over 2 months since started. Has this drained so quickly because it was a brand new battery that required a bit of use in its early life to get it into good health. Plugged the booster onto it to try and start machine and still wouldn't put an ignition light on?

How much does your Gps draw? 50mA over 24 hours could easily drain a good battery over two months
Try a multimeter (when you get it recharged) to see how much power is being drawn

If I leave the ignition swithed on on tractors I don't use often they will run the battery down in a week, the taco in the truck will run down the battery in about 10 days, my digger has a fault on the alternator which runs down the batteries when not disconected in a couple of weeks. It may be the alternator but it's most likely the GPS.
