gave up making it mobile on it's own wheels thanks to the Type Approval rules from last October ruling out one-off projects

What are the rules?
I made a mobile sheep yard a few years back and assumed with proper stub axles and lights etc and under 750kg so no need for brakes it would be fine. šŸ˜³

Usually feeding (sometimes over a few days). You couldn't move a group on the road with a cow catcher
I have moved one alone in the field a bit with it but its not easy, they tend to stop and you catch there heels if you're not careful, they would be ok once they get used to it but be careful to start with, thats why I don't chase them when trying to catch them because they can stop a dam sight faster than you can I learnt that the hard way, luckily nothing was hurt but it could have been

Works like a dream as long as you accept little calf followers (up to say 3 months old) can get in and out

Thanks for the info. Overall, a super looking system.
I was looking at the design and was thinking that our fabricator could weld in two cross members in the shape of an arc starting at the angle on the left hand side and a pin welded on the right hand side with a backing plate would take some pressure off the lower pivot. Might be a bit more costly to do something fancy like that though.

Ever hit your head on the angle when open?
