been having a look at a few new big bale grabs for picking up bale baron packs or 800s, looking at Flat 8 style grabs as I prefer them stacked across the trailers, not totally sure which is best, had a quote for albutt, browns and cherry, the albutt and browns grabs are SUBSTANTIALLY more expensive, just wondered if there was a reason for this, does anyone use any of the above??

moulton is also expensive, used their smaller grab to get all the bales in this year which while a good grab it was a bit soul destroying only moving one 1200 wide pack at a time though, need all 3 rows of tines in the bale pack or bales start dropping out!

If it's any help we have two Browns grabs here, one 1996 and one 1997. For the first 10 years of their life they probably handled 10-15,000 mini hesstons each per year, we don't do as many mini straw bales now, but they still get used a a good bit. Both on 3t telehandlers. Think I've welded about 2 cracks up and one ram seal so quite well built (or they were!).

We always had browns grabs for the little flat 8s and they were ace for that but they just can’t handle big bales

Like I said we've never had any problems with them. You'd never pick little bales up with ours, the hooks are too high above the bottom of the back rest,

You surprise me , I would have thought the one like ours would be a lot cheaper , I think it's the second least expensive model they do. Might be worth giving them a ring direct.
