The British Limousin Society has appointed former agri-business man Will Ketley as its new breed secretary.
The society said Ketley’s track record includes 20 years of experience working in the agricultural industry, from farm-level to the agri-business sector.
He moves from his role as managing director of an investment company, with a CV covering several sectors -from agriculture, engineering to property.
Ketley, who is originally from rural Essex, studied a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture with Business at Writtle University and has previously sat on the National Farmers Union’s Livestock Board.
His family’s prefix, Picketts, was established in the early ‘80s by his father and grandfather with Limousin genetics still at the forefront of the herd.
Ketley said: “I am looking forward to using these skills to take the Limousin Society forward from strength-to-strength, whilst harnessing the talent that is already within the team.
“I am excited by the opportunity to fulfil the aspirations and potential of the Limousin Breed and its members. I look forward to meeting as many of you, the Members, face to face once life resumes to normality.”
