That's a good even spread. (y)

Hence the photo opportunity, not always as neat as that, the hydor ceiling fans defiantly help there

As for perching, drinkers have a dull aluminium fin on the top, and the feeders have spring loaded wire rope a couple of inches above the auger tube, The same rope helps to keep the pans level after the bird rock them on their auger tube, otherwise the feed goes to one side of the pan and tips it, spilling precious feed. See the little pyramid on top of each pan - wire holder
Steel pole hanging down centre left has perch on the bottom and a weigh cell at the top.

I'd seen a situation back in the 60/70s where Chore time had an electricfied wire on the feeder line, but if a few birds jumped up at the same time in shorted out, then more birds jumped up and at best broke the hanging chains, and at worst pulled the shed roof down.

You must be getting close to maximum length for centreless auger.

We’ve got much the same setup for turkeys all be it everything is bigger. The drinkers also have an anti perch wire and the auto weigher has a meter square platform.

Max length for centre less auger 20 years ago was 360ft, so the next door shed is 360. hence new shed matches that, other people have gone to 400ft with no bother. Only trouble with long is it takes a long time to refill after a breakdown or feed running out, birds at ends can hear the auger whirring but still no feed comes, they dont like that.

Is turkey weigher a flat platform like a bathroom scale? Larger chickens dont like my weighers , as they put one foot on the scale swings away. Like a man stepping onto a rowing boat. Its very accurate until around 40 days then it all goes wrong. But this system keeps the weigh cell up in the roof away from pollution.

It's hanging from the roof on wires. It's big and heavy but still swings. Turkeys are more mobile than broilers so they don't mind so much. They're 17kg at 18 weeks old now and jumping over 3ft hurdles.

Alti energy are they just the heat pump.
Questions???
Is the radiator between the 2 doors on the rear section?
On the longer section it looks as though access is now from the side to do any cleaning, if so are the tubes flat now instead of vertical. Is this for another new shed or for the one installed last year and if so what have you heated the shed with in the mean time.

Alt supplied everything including working with venco to supply exchanger.
tubes are same as ever, roof section opens as before, rad is indeed between the 2 doors.
that section also houses a recirc pipe to shed and electric shutters to seal off the recirc and outside air through tubes
This system is for the newest shed, presently LPG.

There is a new touch screen for controlling the system, most of the electrics now come fitted to the exchanger pre wired, with a control wire to screen in store, lots of info on screen with temp probes all over the place

finally got it working yesterday, on manual until the dutch come to commission next turn round, no heat yet, lots of digging to do first

I spoke to a few at pig and poultry but they were all uninterested until I got planning, but i need to provide plans inorder to get planning.

Its been too long since i last built a shed, ive got out of the loop

Ridgesteel would be more than happy to provide some ideas and costings for the building you require, to suit size and budget and we can deliver on 30 days

Manifolds arrived to join the 10km of 40mm pipe to the 300 mm of 200mm pipe which runs to the heat pump itself.
trenching 25% done each 125m trench carries a 250m pipe up and down the field, wet and messy job shame ,it wasnt done earlier in the year as planned. The dug grond is drier than the undisturbed due to lifting out drier soil. Found and repaired a few drains but most of the drains are deeper than the digging.
