would have thought problem would have been spotted as soon as steel had been erected, its moved on a long way if panels and o/s door has been installed, didn't customer or rep of customer carry out regular site visits? As Chae1 said you could have lowered panel brackets quite easily especially as not galvanized steel but now door in place bigger and expensive job.

Don't people use plans any more?

When I was a boy, the price would be paid at the completion of each stage of the work after inspection by a surveyor. the owner, or his agent. If it wasn't right according to the plans, the final payment would be withheld until it was so everything was double checked.

who is the builder? strange you hide some names but on other treads you allow them... looks dodgy already.

Looks like it was quite obvious how high the panels were going to be the day they put the first column up. why did you not stop them then?????

He mentioned the name and I asked for it to be removed as it isn't fair to have a firms good reputation ruined over what may not be there fault

my point is, if they are now starting to censor posts until proof either way then there are a lot to go back and look at.

The op removed the name on this. I don't like company names been mentioned as I don't think it's fair but then if it's true what they've done then you have every right to. In this case I feel as its a misunderstanding.

I'm still waiting for the op to confirm if they've checked the eaves height is right

This should of been nipped in the bud from a very early stage. When we are having sheds put up I am on site mornings and evenings to check progress and things are all going according to plan. Call me anal but I even check all the steel sizes and lengths on arrival.
We had a mistake once on a building regarding the spec of the rafters - if I had not checked them myself before they were erected it would of been one hell of a ding dong to sort out.
i hope it's just a misunderstanding that u can both overcome together.

as you say. day 1, column 1 up in the air and you would see the concrete panel level and put a stop there and then.

sounds like you sorted your issue early, but sounds like your builders co-operative?

Was very lucky. Not sure how co-operative they would of been if the problem was only spotted once the roof was on?!
As I think it's already been mentioned get EVERYTHING in writing!

Two wrongs don't make a right.

Do you know that the OP been the cause of problems when selling something or is that just speculation? It might just be the way I'm reading it but it seems like that is what you are suggesting.?

I wouldn't speculate on an open forum about that as that wouldn't be fair.

Agree two wrongs don't make a right hence my karma comment as the wrong hasn't been committed by the person the OP wrong but a wrong done onto him.

But I will leave that matter at that and let it to return to the original posting of the thread as it would be unfair to distract away from that

It's one of those topics is it ?:scratchhead:

Anyway, would it be possible to make a ' kerbstone ' around the outside, then just fill inside to whatever depth you want ?
And the roller door just needs another section added ( they come in sections I think, for repairs)

Looking at the photos, it seems very obvious to me that the pads at the bottom of the stanchions need at least 150 mm of concrete over them to hold them in place. What is more, grout or very runny concrete needs putting under the stanchion pads to bear some of the weight of the building. Expecting threaded rod and nuts to both support and hold down the entire weight of the building is plain daft IMO.
