A little bit more done now, Walls all built up, floors concerned, services in and now we have the scaffolding all up ready for the frame to go up after the holidays and all the pipe has turned up for the ground source heating so we will get this in in the next week or so

Yes all glass in the steel work , no i did not make the steel work , needed to have lots of paper work with it & was going to be cheaper made else were

they tend to be the same everywhere. Ours had to go to committee they passed it without hesitation. At local level they realise the need to support agriculture because once it’s gone it’s not coming back!

Planning, old steel buildings up the road, not been a farm for 15years, put in for an apartment hotel (and i'm not sure what it is) in the large covered silage pit. As expected, locals up in arms, etc. I, and a few others, expected it to be turned down, to be followed by plans for several houses, It was passed, as permitted development, without going to committee !!!!!!!! not sure that was the wanted result, but..

I know there’s a lot of difference in what individuals will spec but considering a new build and wouldn’t mind an idea of what you think it’ll cost per m2, through to completion or if the collective would be able to give an idea. Pm if you prefer.

Cost to build with kitchen and bathroom fittings ,no floor covering is about £1000 per square meter, our will be a little more as we are having ground source heating, solar thermal and under floor heating in it all including the garage, out side ,lawn ,slabs etc is more

Made a start putting the ground source heating pipes in today 650 meters in total to go in

No we did the site then the builder took over with the build

That topsoil would plough & drill. Subsoil like dust - are you in some valley microclimate?

Thanks @Speedstar , wife is dead set on a bungalow I think so in 30-40 yrs were not up and down stairs but we’ll see what happens.

We are keeping detail cost and will be able to tell every thing and the cost when we are finished, same reason we are building a Bungalow looking to old age and hopefully will live to see it
