New claas arion thoughts

hi Nathan here mechanic at a claas dealer and you need to be of the seat to engage the pto for stationery work for mother regulations

You actually don’t , sorry found this out yesterday , lad I know had one sitting on a Doda Pump and it was driving him round the bend, you can engage Pto stationery as long as you lean over and engage it and don’t touch the seat .

To dim the screen just go into screen settings turn to auto then when you turn the lights on the screen goes dimmer for night work.
Pto switch is down the side of the seat in a plug type switch ( unplug turns off ) mixed farm lots of gates to open close and spraying doesn't help when the pto keeps turning of . But all good and tractor is comfy took a bit to get use to the gear box. Just needs to sort the lack of power out and were good to go
dealer been very good I believed them when they said there'd bang it on the dyno on its 100 hour service . Time will tell

Pick up hitch is a right game and
can see it's going to be lifted up but not pulled inn . And can't see it very well backing up Is that the best they could come up with ? Looks better on the small Arion with the chain system down and out up and in one movement.
And can't leave the top link on when I mix a load of cattle food which is a arse as it gets took of and then left some where. And can't open the window with the feeder on another arse . So the cabs going to end up full of milled barley dust
And when the ferti spinner is on top setting could lift up and break the back window . So that's going to happen one day.
Turning circle not as good as the jd it replaced which has cocked up some of the inns and outs in the wheat.
Good under cab clearance on 42rims can lift ferti spinner full / 3 point linkage suspension works very well .
Good choice of pto speeds / nice cab
Un sure about the weight distbution 50/50 but makes ferti spinning safe
Smooth gear box

How much did Ashfield and Wilson’s Knock off the the price in return for you advertising for them with the big sticker in the windscreen?
Picked up a new car couple of years ago and the deal had stuck a big sticker in the back window with there name on, so when the sales man come out with the keys the first thing I did was open the boot and pealed it off to which he asked what I was doing. I told him no deal had been made for me to advertise for them but I would happily leave it in for a up front cost of £500. He walked away. :)

I put over 2000 hrs on a 650 it was dyno'd at 178 at the shaft but pulled like 120 right from day 1 till the day it left us there's lads round this way that were running old shape 640's that moved to 650's and they all say they're numb

We traded it in towards the new one, should be on Ashfield & Wilson’s website though
You didn't fancy a new 450 or equivalent to replace 430.currently have a 410 old shape .Priced up a new 450 with cab and axle suspension mental money .Yet to find anyone that has one to give there opinion.

Our neighbour has 1 that shape for a year as a loader tractor not sure of the model number tho it'll not do much but he says it's been good so far I can ask him further if you'd like ?

I demo’d a 530 & new 440 and also currently have a 410. The 530 was too big for us, a lovely tractor but even at 145 hp I still felt the engine a bit dull like our 410 considering the hp increase. The 440 (120hp) with fpt engine pulled well and seemed to have that old fashioned raw power. Lighter backend and smaller but it was the engine that impressed me. I’ve also priced a 450 and was also shocked at the price especially once you add a few things but cheaper than valtra and JD. I didn’t price front suspension as I didn’t feel much benefit when going slow on our rough ground on the 530 but for road work and speed felt it would certainly be worth it. I’d be interested to here what sort of spec and money you were priced for a new 450 if cared to share, pm me if preferred. List price I was quoted over 100k with a loader...

Having to travel more for land so wanted to move up to a higher spec of tractor. But when we’re changing our 410 I’d say we’ll look at a new 400 series model. I think they are around the 60k price range ? Mental money as you say
