What lexion or tucano you guys recommend for knocking about 50 acres a day down?
Hilly ground.
We been running an old lexy410 as it was fine on organic crops.
Average field size 20 acres.

But now farming properly again we keep getting engine overload going up the steeper bits or thick crops with chopper running.

Tucano 440 would take some beating easily up to 50 acres a day

I read on another very old thread that they throw a bit over bsck off the walkers.
That still same with newer ones ?

Yes they are still the same. But also the same as any other Walker combines. As long as you know it’s limits it will be fine but claas do tend to over sell the same old threshing system and put 25ft headers on them sometimes and people wonder why they throw corn over.

Hmm, yes probably, our 430 did about 30 acres in 8 hours today.

The trouble is that this year finding days you can cut for 8 hours straight has been a bit of a challenge!

Tucano has 450mm drum and Lexion has 600mm also the Lexion is slightly wider than the tucano of the same amount of walkers

Interesting about the Tucano 450 drum, I assumed that the step change in output when we got the Lexion came mainly from the huge drum and APS.

Had a play with one today - 730 single rotor on tracks.
Lovely to drive, cab is a big improvement and I can now stretch my legs out properly! Very quiet and smooth. Lots of cubby holes.
Mechanically much more simplified, less panelwork to catch dust, fewer hydraulic lines criss crossing about and easier access for repairs and blowing down. Nice features such as a little box to store the airline, and a water tank for handwashing. There is a dog clutch for the chopper now instead of the belt tensioning system.
Engine compartment refined, less bits to catch dust
Broke the unloading auger shear bolt - apparently not the first time it's happened this season.

The Lexion yield meter has never been adequate for me, will it have a Farmer's Weekly setting? I need to be getting at least 7t/ha on the road on the way to the field.

Always wonderwd why they cant just ise a weigh cell arrangement

How do the big claas rotarys get on in undersown barley or flat crop? They supposedly need to be kept full to make the best job how do you do that in difficult cutting conditions?

It’s guts ie the bits that thrash and sort grain are exactly the same as a Lexion 750. With a different engine and cab

Not entirely sure on that but we have a Lexion 650 and I know a trion 650 is identical at 350hp but Cummins not merc

No, first time driving any claas combine, but as said above the guts of it are the same.
