New claim for sfp

Hi folks I have about 20acres I'm farming between ground I own and rent. I have applied to do a level 2 course starting in October there are no entitlements on any of the ground in have. Will I be able to claim next year when I have the course complete. Also I'm in Northern Ireland cheers

if its anything like England you have to buy the entitlements unless...
are you under 40? if so you could be classed as a young farmer and therefore be able to apply for entitlements free, and get the normal payment and get a 25% top up for being a new/young farmer.

(25% is for 5 years from 1st year of you farming)

yes ideally claim your 1st year of claiming as your 1st incharge of the farm ie if you parents are involved, they had 51% before a date and then you need above 51% after so you are the majority and can claim young farmer for 5 years. if you started 1 year ago you can still claim but you would only get the young farmer top up for 4 years. ie 5 from starting farming.

funny an alert came up on this today, had a letter yeaterday refusing my young farmer as the certificate supplied in 15 doesn't have enough evidence (I couldn't send a bank account slip in because I hadn't opened the account!) they are ringing me back with what I need to supply 1 day … they sure are fast!!!
