New class scorpion

Looking at a new forklift any body tried a brand new scorpion based on the liebherr. Heard the first ones were rubbish wondering if they’d improved much? Looking at about 3.5t 7m. Tried the merlo and was quite impressed

Had a demo of one recently and now ordered one of that size. When someone asked me what I thought of it my reply was that "it goes forwards and backwards and up and down" just like its Kramer predecessor.
I hope that they've sorted the glitches out by now.

Drive two Claas machines, both fantastic. The newest one looks spectacularly good and the cab looks to have gained the good points from both earlier machines. Liebherr are really the Rolls Royce of machinery, if the hydraulic grunt is anything like the Kramer it will be some machine. Claas have the only machine that has come close to the driving precision and ease of a Merlo I have found.

Hydrostatic now available in most Manitous now and JCB dualtec transmission is part hydrostatic.

Fair enough!
Personally I like them,put 11k hours on mine and everything I don't like about it has been addressed on the new ones.

Was the one you had an early one or one of the recent ones. There have been many software updates to resolve a lot of issues that were present in the early ones.

All fixable issues. What model and spec is it?

Yeah sorry topless partly my fault. Plenty manitou bashing threads he can join in on if he wants my help.

As for class I cant say alot only dealt with the early Sanderson built ones.

If you got a decent dealer local to you then why not give class a go if you like it. Otherwise the safe bet longer term is manitou or JCB cause theres always someone else you can turn to for help if needed.

The claas is going to be very limited on support elsewhere so you need to have confidence in your dealer to sort issues and parts when time comes.
