New combination drill?

Ok so got some prices for a new 3 meter combi drill
Lemken / maschio / sulky all disc coulters all with press wheels. Per em and bout markers wheel track eradicators
All within £1000 of each other good dealers within 40 miles
So the question is which is the best/ most reliable
Thanks to all that reply

Kuhn would be my first choice .

But out of you're list Sulky first lemken second Maschio last

If you're on heavy land with the lemken you'll want wide spacing if you want to drill in wet conditions .

No experience of Maschio but I looked at one at a tillage event and the other drills look to have better pressure for burying seed just my opinion tho

We demod a few combis a few years ago - it's on here somewhere.

Lemken - too many pivots and wear points - struggled in heavy going, good power harrow. Parts expensive.

Amazone - only 10 rotors in 3m, too expensive, again struggled in tough going

Kuhn & Maschio - very similar drills to the Lemken parralellogram setup - too many moving parts to wear out

Horsch - again only 10 rotors - very expensive - more capable than some though

Sulky - great machine in anything but stone (discs ride over big rocks and breaks springs) but needs to be for the price!

Pottinger - the one we bought - 12 rotors, rubber mounted coulters, simple strong and effective. Ten grand less than a Sulky or Horsch. No regrets.

The one we looked at but didn't demo mostly due to dealer proximity was the Alpego. Ticks the same boxes as the Pottinger but simpler single disc coulter.

Looked at a pottinger at russels the other day but I thought it only had 10 rotors might have to make a phone call to the rep. Alpego also on the phone call list but it only has the single disc plus tines are similar prices to the lemken

Works for me on a variety of land.ive no experience or 12 rotors on a 3m machine so can’t fairly comment.on a mix of medium to heavy land here it works fine.heavy wet land after sugar beet takes some getting apart but don’t think anything would work well in those conditions

Look at an alpego v strong and well built and will stand some abuse and hp. Disc coulters good and when it gets really ropey will actually run longer than you should be out there. A few getting about in this area and very impressive
