New compressor recommendations

Our compressor has packed in, which tbh I'm not sad about as it was little use. Want a compressor that is not too dear but also good enough for spraying with and blowing up wheels. Our last one was 25L and was crap at both these jobs. What's people here using?

Worth doing research to see if you can get one that doesn't need annual testing by the box ticker brigade.
You'd probably need to go for something without a receiver, like some hydrovane units? Most regular piston workshop compressors with a reasonable sized tank for spraying are going to get caught by the rules. I think anything above 250 bar-litres (pressure x tank volume) is inside the rules.

Having worked in the compressed air industry (Atlas Copco ) I would advise.
Workout what tools you you intend to use and what the air consumption is and then add 50% (you want the actual volume delivered not piston displacement.)

Don't forget a good size hose too! Got a 10mm hose here and it's a HUGE upgrade when blowing out rads etc compared to the Aldi special hose I have before which I think was 6mm or 8mm.

Aldi did its job though - "My First Compressor", sounds like a baby's book!

Thought they were only interested in the vessel. :scratchhead:

i believe any fixed piping falls under the examination.
Primarily, the examination is looking at corrosion (of the tank) so corroded pipe would be just as bad.

Im not sure about using blue pipe - but it is what i used. went for 32mm (inch bore) to make sure no restriction within the pipe. compressor is situatied other end of the shed behind a concrete panel.

Thinking about box tickers: would they tick a good or bad box for using mdpe pipe?
Only bad tick if it ruptures next to him whilst he is there.
Probably ought to be using the UV stable black version of MDPE pipe for airline, to avoid unexpected failure.
