The exhaust has cracked on the elbow at the bottom of the upright on my 6530, the rest of the upright looks generally pretty rusty as well, think i'm going to have a crack at making a new one out of stainless, where is good for buying stainless tubing online?
I got it from these guys ^^ mine is 5.5inch and I think they made it 1.8m long so I could cut it down as I needed to
I fitted it cos the original worn thru and gone paper thin on the tip/top, be warned tho it took me best part of a day's fitting/fabrication to get right
Ha that's deffo scrap... I used part of the elbow and welded it into the bottom of the stainless pipe, so that's obiviously not a option for you, maybe contact that firm on eBay in the above link and see if they can do a reducer incorporated into a elbow? I'v seen those tractor exhaust.com ones I prefer mine personally
I didn't take any pics whilst doing mine I'm afraid
I've said it once, I'll say it again @trook, Tractorexhaust.com will do you stainless right through for a couple of hundred quid right through, you don't weld anything, you don't eBay anything, you just ring him up, it arrives, you put it on and never need to think about it again!
A big +1 I like to make as much as I can myself, have you decided on what pipe/bend to use? Did you get intouch with the company on eBay they were very helpful when I dealt with them
Yeah found a 3" 90 degree bend and a reducer from 4 to 3" from elsewhere on eBay and I rung the company you got yours from, very helpful and will be here Monday so I can go straight into the pipe hopefully. I looked into making the box a straigh through and should only need a 90 elbow but would need to be 3" at one end and 4" at the turbo and flared at both ends just got to find one!
This should fit onto the turbo end? Not sure about the other end tho,
I cut both pipes of the box then fed in a 90 pipe and welded it in then welded both in/out pipes back on the box that way you can still use the original mounts and still looks factory under the bonnet
been looking at videos waiting for my pipework to turn up, i know its a 20 series but its the same engine just minus the egr valve, should sound pretty nice
