New farm, the journey begins!

Finished with trencher here today (bit at home farm. New farm was finished Tuesday). Huge difference having a fully functioning stock water supply system. And one that I now fully have control and knowledge of where stuff is. Massive improvement to farm.

Water and power is a big thing to have right, along with access and logistic capabilty for goods inward and outward. A platform you can build on IMO.

House planning and tractor purchase will soon be on my project list.

When i take over farm i need to renovate the farm, not all in 1 go but maybe over 4 years.

My beloved 3350 can do the work but its hard going.

Big decision.....
Not at all, was pretty easy, they want me to stay on until replacement so will let them know it would be as consultant. $110 an hour.

That will sort the men from the boys.

Im the 2nd manager in 6 months.

The never did any business planning for this which is mind boggling.

I did a management plan for the parts van and they mocked it....

So it was the fact of me being the polar opposite in business theory that my decision was based off.

The job was not hard or technical, but workload huge to get under control, alos alot of corporate systems were not fit fir purpose.

The demands of customers these days is something else, to be honest its not a nice job dealing with the public these days.

Also veing stitched by jd on gear does not help either. Im counting the hours till i finish.

New sheds arrive 24th may. So will have some progress pics to post.

I felt like i was behind all the time when in Portland, for 10 years i struggled. The last 2 were a bit more enjoyable as i had the shed and some gear.

In camperdown, i feel like im keeping pace and actually ahead, its a stark contrast. I didnt appereciate how much anxiety i had in portland until shifting here, hiring my brother for 3 months and knowledge of how to get things done quicker when cleaning up a farm have been good moves. Atleast i learnt from the past i suppose.

I was thinking we wouldnt get hay shed built but ive temp fenced and marked shed, will get gravel this week and level, my new job from home means i knock off at 4pm amd at work 4.01pm...so can get stuff done in 2 hrs of day light.

I got pricing on MF 5712s and 7614, if both speced with dyna 6 they only 10k apart? So the 140hp is looking attractive.

The catch is tax mitigation, to get the 150k write off i have to qaulify, spoke to accountant but they dont leave me with any confidence with there advice. Will need to seek further help.

5712s dyna 6 with loader no trade 130k exc gst

7412 dyna 6 with loader 140ķ exc gst.

Is the 76 second hand? Should be a 7714 otherwise. . And the 7000 series is far better. Rather large for a 150ac farm though.....

Nope 7614 is new, still made.

Agree its too big but for 10k? Difference to 4cyl model...near have to coff the extra 10 i reckon.

I really need to be able to load unlaod bdoubles with big sqaures on. And if u want 1 load or a 1000 you need the loader to do it.

Its mainly yo mitigate tax, either have a tractor or pay fortune in tax. Ill take the tractor.

@TelesnaAg I've enjoyed reading this thread from start to finish, thank you. My first foray out on the bike was in your direction and was a fine seven day trip. Grand scenery. I ended up in The Grampians after following The Great Ocean Road then back to Melbourne and on to Taz.

A darn fine circuit that, not a bad part of the world down here.

Suffolk is lower rainfall correct? But has irrigation?

Cheers, Ant
