New Farming Investment Fund launched today

Hi all, just sharing a post we published yesterday, explaining that this fund was very over-subscribed, so we have increased the budget to meet more of the demand: https://defrafarming.blog.gov.uk/2022/02/22/farming-equipment-and-technology-fund-grants-issued/

You should by now have heard if your application was successful, and if not had a note to explain how you can apply again for the next round later this year.
Hi Janet, I applied for this grant and have not had confirmation either way

Hi Janet, we are looking for a yield monitor to go on our older type combine. Do you know if it will be on the list and when the next application window will open please?

Handheld eid reader plus full management software for 1500 ewes is around £1350. Less of you have under 500 ewes and more of you have over 1500 ewes. Stick reader equivalent is around £1500 so why force a farmer to a specific reader format. On top of that the apr600 reader can be both a handheld and a stick as there is a clip on extension stick embarking it to be a stick when loading or unloading animals and an in pocket handheld when working close up with animals like when lambing. There's no excuse not to know what is available!

Hi there, I've checked with the team - there was a yield monitor in the recent round of the Farming Equipment and Technology Fund - there will be another round later this year, we'll publish details and timings once we've done some further work to look at feedback about how this round worked - I'll share more details on that (and how you can feed in your views and ideas) shortly

Could I ask why there is a constant opening and closing of application windows if the fund is opening again later? It makes it more complicated for planning the purchase and the fitting etc.

Hi Janet, I would like to propose a new product to be considered for the next round of The Farming Equipment and Technology Fund. Can you point me in the right direction. Thank you

Yes, we're looking at how we can move away from this way of working and have more things available in just an ongoing way so you can access them at your convenience.

It will take us a while to get there (and we might not be able to go all the way there) because it's quite a complicated move from a policy, operational and financial management perspective, but that doesn't mean it can't be done at all / we can't improve on what we have now, and I hope you will see over the next year or two that we are moving more in that general direction.

We're also creating a single place where you can find / get notified about all the things that are relevant to you, so you don't have to learn the names of different funds or watch out for announcements all the time. That will also come on stream during this year, and we'll continue iterating and improving it once it's live, based on your feedback.

That will be great.I've missed out in the past not knowing which fund is available and, especially, what items are covered.

Good evening Janet,
I am trying to understand what sort of 3m direct drill I could purchase . Would a simple box drill qualify? I'm thinking of a Kuhn Premia, would this be ok?
Hi Haybob,
we have our Kuhn salesman coming out to see us about a Kuhn Premia. Not for direct drilling, but did you end up getting one & any news on it?
Thanks

No my Kuhn dealer never got back to me and I never got a clear answer from DEFRA to know if it would qualify.
