Course there is always an alternative to this ELMs bullsh!t, the UK government could simply allow UK farmers to do what they do best & grow food to feed people, maybe the government could use some of that foreign aid cash they love to slosh around & buy UK grain to distribute to starving people rather than put in some fat twerps Swiss bank account.
Can you imagine the excitement on little Abebe's sweet hollow little face when he learns of the UK farmers contribution to saving his world with the bird seed we are planting or the fact that thanks to Bozo's largess Fred up the road will be turning the soil one & half inches shallower next year, my god how thankful he will be, it will I'm sure bring tears to his eyes!

It's a pity that the specification does not reflect what is actually available for eid readers. SG34 and SG35 don't make sense. A stick reader does exactly the same level of recording as a handheld yet a farmer wanting stick format instead of handheld format is severely disadvantaged. stick reader is about £200 more expensive than a handheld but it's restricted to lower rate of grant. That doesn't make sense. I've already notified the Welsh scheme about this. Farmers who want stick format must kick about this. We sell both. But stick read range is greater than handheld and stick can be attached to outside of weigh crate for automatic weighing. Handheld reader is about 2 inches less range and that's critical of you want to use reader as asubstiute for a panel. SG35 is for simple sticks that only tag tag numbers. But the agrident sticks allows full recording including look up database on the screen of the stick (AWR300) and they need to be permitted under SG34

Handheld eid reader plus full management software for 1500 ewes is around £1350. Less of you have under 500 ewes and more of you have over 1500 ewes. Stick reader equivalent is around £1500 so why force a farmer to a specific reader format. On top of that the apr600 reader can be both a handheld and a stick as there is a clip on extension stick embarking it to be a stick when loading or unloading animals and an in pocket handheld when working close up with animals like when lambing. There's no excuse not to know what is available!

How come why I checked the Annex earlier the items were Sg34 and SG35. Now I check and it FEFT81. FEFT81 doesn't seen to exclude the high specification stick reader. After all you still carry it in your hand. I'm confused. It's not very clear. Why don't you keep it simple and do the terms handheld and stick instead have higher rate for a reader that allows you to record all management information directly on the reader with lookup capability to display individual records cards for animals and more rate for readers which only read in and display lists of tags.

Yeah kind of; basically the grass low disturbance subsoiler grant at the moment can go toward a grass or arable low disturbance subsoiler as long as it does the same thing as a grass one (leading disc and packer minimum 3 leg I think but please check) no dedicated arable grant.
I bought a Browns sward lifter under the old Grant scheme. 3 legs is a bit much for my 100 horses, but the middle leg comes off just fine... Used mostly on arable so far. ;)

Anyone here any experience of the reservoir building grants? I have planning and will dig next summer but have put off going to an electric pump for all the obvious reasons, Is there a relatively easy way to tell if the grants might contribute to pumping equipment for a new (unsupported) winter storage reservoir?

They can go towards ram pumps which our Papa pumps fall into, Multi pump set ups are perfect for filling reservoirs, They don't require any fuel or electricity and minimal maintenance

Thanks for the reply...I was really talking about an electric service pump out of the new reservoir but for interests sake what output could you get for us for filling?
Fall 1200mm
Flow 1.2m3/ minute
16m lift
Length of drive pipe to suit your pump.

Thanks, Richard.

Hi Richard,

With that flow you could get up to 20 Papa pumps, pumping a total of 51,500 litres/day (probably more than needed)

If you could email some coordinates and your water requirement to [email protected] we can do a free site survey and map the best system for you

Regards
Jacob
