New grain silo build.

It occurred to me that I should stop sticking pictures of our silo build on @Woldgrain Storage excellent silo thread and start my own!

Pics of the build of a 700ton Sukup drying and stirring bin to feed our poultry feed mill. Stirrers will be used to blend wheat/barley/rye etc together which will feed into the mill, fingers crossed.

First the ground workers dug an obscenely big hole to shore up the side of an old dry pond and filled it back up with crushed limestone.

Then they set up the form work and poured the concrete:

Will you have to fill it methodically or are you just going to load it up as it comes off the combine and the stirers will give you an even blend of whatever goes in?

Load it all in in approximate quantities, mix it and then test the resulting sample for protein/fibre etc I hope.

If we have a catchy harvest it should also be possible to blend wet and dry grain to an extent, we shall see.
