New grain store

I'm looking to build a new grain store of circa 2000t. I have had Graham Heath put 5 buildings up for us in the last few years all of which have been ideal for their purpose from workshops to temporary stores to storage lets. I would be interested to know who others have used recently for a grain store project, to be clear this will be a flat floor with a large mobile drier.

Thanks

Put up a 42x24m grain store in 2020. Dryer and intake in one end bay and the rest of the shed into 3 x 12x24m bays. Would hold 2000 if filled from a top conveyor. Shed was roughly 100k and 25t dryer plus trench intake was 58k. Was a refurbished master dryer. Hope that helps.

Have a new build going up shortly by Deville and Lear. Prices for sheeting, roofing etc were set by ordering a long time ago, but costs have still rocketed for concrete, steel and groundwork despite my best efforts. Beware of going over 10000 sq ft, you need a Sustainable Under drainage assessment for anything bigger, and that means more Council involvement which has cost us alot of time.

I'm guessing it would be substantially more today.Concrete, steel and fittings have rocketed in price during last year or so.

So what is the ultimate size and thus w x d to keep you under the hassle radar? 80 x 125?

Due to 50% of the workforce having other commitments(namely GCSE`s and Advanced Higher`s) sadly we would have to decline any work offers.
Lockdown year was unique in many aspects, namely school out ensuring the job could commence as soon as cow turnout happened.
With building site lockdowns also, it meant the Manitou Turntable Telehandler was freely available.

Although id say this is our biggest project, we have shifted a milking parlour 200miles in the past and erected our own 30m wind turbine also.
We like to keep busy.

Hello Banana Bar,

Zappshelter supplies the aggregates industry with 'temporary' shelter systems for keeping aggregates and fines dry. This application is virtually the same as keeping grain dry.

If this is something of interest take a look at our website - www.zappshelter.com - or get in touch to speak to our team 7:30 am-5:00 pm 0208 0505 121 | [email protected]

Make sure to mention you found us on the farming forum😊

Have a great day, I hope this is of use.
