New holding numbers

How easy is it to set one up?
We only own 1 x acres field for ourselves as young farmers. We rent over 60 acres within 9 miles and have been using our parents holding to start off and link to to save on movements etc.
Can we set up a holding just on 2 or 3 acres? Or is there another way to do easy movements onto land rented for summer etc?
Any advice appreciated.

In Wales by the way.

When we started we were what they called a landless keeper. We had our own holding number registered to our house in the village. Was easy to do. The problem will be now your main holding has gone down with tb, I doubt they will break the link just like that, unless it is now clear.

We have been free of TB since december so thats why i am now looking at separating as we are clear.
How did you register as a landless keeper?

The process is simple enough, first you need to contact rural payments agency who will issue you a holding number, then once you have this you can contact the animal and plant health agency to get your own heard Mark.

as for the TB issues this may complicate things. The link below will point you in the right direction, so be warned the automated telephone system is the worst:

Go online and set up an RPWOnline account. You can then use the Manage My CPH section to set up a new holding number for any land you occupy solely.

Does it matter if home address is far from the land? I find this all quite confusing. Its 13 miles away from our house.
No, it won’t matter. If there is no land with the house, you will just need a holding number for the block of land. It’s quite simple to do from your account once you’re set up for RPWOnline.

Had the same problem when I started out, so you can register a holding number on your house, you never need too take animals there too have a holding number on it. Then you need too register your other holdings as tla’s which you don’t have too do a movement form too move between aslong as they’re within 13 miles as the crow flies

I've been on the RPW site this morning to "update CPH" (got an email about it ) and the only information I could see, was to do with my holding. Could you ring them? 0300 062 5004 (gone 5 pm now) Staff were very helpful as I had a couple of questions.
No matter I was just wondering how to check holding numbers in the area and land listed, but even though their system shows all for each farm, and maps interactive etc you would of though if hovered over different fields it would state holding numbers or relavant cph numbers for those parcels?
Obviously not!
