They were ok in there day, used to get the main bearing go every 20k bales or so, a bit dated now, still be ok for 3 to 5k bales a year if not pushed to hard, net system used to work ok never had to many problems with that, ran mine to 55k bales before i px for newer model which were made of soft metal, 740 was the model i think, avoid those as the stub augers break for fun and the pick-up flies to pieces and the main bearing still used to go, you think after 30 years of making the bloody things they would put a bearing thats up to the job. Thats why i ended up with a mchale, after 8 years of use i yet to have a bearing go.
