You have a sharper eye than me
And to be fair I didn't want to be the one to pi$$ on his bonfire
But on the bright side if he buys the one of Facebook he will have one for spares
To be honest I did not like pointing out the issues but sometimes it is kindest to be blunt.
Realistically the only good thing about that one is the paintwork

I know where you coming from but I’m becoming battle hardened as my wife shakes her head in disbelief almost every time she passes the thing.

Is this the relic you bought

Is it raining down there? The bent and twisted nh 65 I bought with a drum mower resting on top of it isn’t a patch on yours but it shares the same beautiful durability of its engineering. Nothing has yet snapped or sheared or bolts de-thread or and every day reveals an integrity that simply shames my modern flail mower that has given us the ghost fifty years too soon. Hopefully with a bit of luck I will be able to share with you a video of us baling. Fingers crossed.

Just about to order new roller bearings for the feeder finger carriage for the 65. Old ones look like wood but wondered if a more modern material would work.

Looked at Messicks in US offer two types

Bearing, Wood;Used On & BSN 5200.

Bearing, Phenolic, Roller;Used On & ASN 5201

What’s the difference?

Many thanks Mike. Since my original post I have actually bought a 65e which is complete though I’m sure the knotters would also fit the 65. I’m holding fire on the refurb of the 65 as I m trying to gather all the parts before starting. It’s missing a difficult to find side panel and pto assembly and nose cone which together might cost more than buying a complete machine. So I’m holding fire for the moment and waiting to see what comes up. Thanks again though.
