New Holland 65 baler wanted.

No. We have a small amount of organic pasture that and a low horse power 1200kg tractor. We want to make small hay bales and restart what my father-in law did the with a machine of that era. The 65 is a lovely small machine that ticks a lot of boxes for us.

Much appreciated. I think it’s a NH68? Looks a nice baler. I should have added that the land we have is steep(ish) and the 65’s light weight is one of its selling points. But thank you again for the trouble and will give this a bit more thought - it’s nice to see one actually working!

You won't drive a baler with a compact tractor , certainly the baler will be the boss

If you think a NH68 is a bit big for your steep(ish) land you should think about whether you should be baling it
As said a baler will boss a modern compact tractor as they don't have the weight or grunt of the same horsepower of 45/50 years ago

I tend to agree with both of your posts about being bossed by the baler. Having looked at some of even the “ smaller” balers” which at just sub 3000lbs would make a trip downhill with a 1200 kg tractor interesting. I believe the 65 is 900lb lighter and the machine my father in law once used.

an old david brown albion has a plunger which works sideways so no to and fro motion. the nh68 was a damn good baler in it's day if kinda slow.
Now I didn’t know that - thank you. Though I suspect this one might be equally difficult to track a survivor down.

The New Holland 65 has a smaller bale chamber than the 68 and is completely different machine that is why they sold well over seas in the hilly areas
I have one in my collection If you look over in France you will find plenty
