Ok. I have a new holland t7040 on a 11 plate with 2800hrs on it. Front linkage and pto, power command remapped.

Question is, I've the chance to upgrade it to a T7. 250 autocommand ( i have one already and love it )with front links and pto. It's on a 12 plate wuth 2000hrs and would have 6minths dealer warrenty on it.

Both tractors in very good condition wuth good tyres.

How much to change ££££ ???

Did you want to change it before you saw the 250? if not do nothing, its cheaper, then save for a brand new one that you know what its done.

Bit more than that I'm afraid. The only reason I'm thinking of changing it is that I live the vario box. I find the power command a rubbish box for hauling which is most of what this one does.

You can but then you get unpredictable gear changes. The tractor might be able to give you the best gear for that second based on load and anything else it can measure but it can't look up the road to see what's coming in the next few hundred yards

You take your foot off the throttle and it will drop gears. Press hard and it will hold the gear longer before changing.. eg on hill.

Bloody hell what is the world coming to. All you need to do to change gear is press a button. That's it! No clutch to press, no levers to juggle it really can't get much easier or simpler can it.

Anyone who disagrees ought to get a reality check and spend a few days on something with a non power assisted clutch and trans tunnel crash gears. they will soon come round to my way of thinking.

I've still not mastered the auto on power commands, you can control how it changes gear through the foot pedal. The only thing I don't like about it is going down hill and pressing the brake!

@boyo I get where your coming from with the autocommand, it's an awesome box on the road.
