hi, a friend of mine has a 7040 newholland auto steer ready and is looking to get gps installed for drilling, bed forming etc.. what would be the cheapest and easiest way to go about this without having to go back to main dealer

If you go for a GFX-750 you wouldn’t need a NAV controller for an autosteer ready tractor as it is already built into the dome.
Appears Trimble have moved away from their traditional ‘separate’ box setup with antenna on roof, coax running to the screen/receiver and a separate steering controller.

The new setup is far better integrated and Topcon-like, if you will.

No doubt the better integration and lower number of boxes translates to a cheaper overall system cost - hence why folks are seeing a £2K difference between a GFX-750 setup and a CFX-750 based setup.
