New Holland 7840 hydraulic lift faults error 24

Can anyone help we have a customers 7840 and the right hand display is showing error 24 which is carry out hitch calibration.. however after introducing the code 27 to carry out the calibration the display is not reading the linkage position... 0-99% just stays flashing 24.. we also have no status light on the right hand electro link panel.. the hydraulics do work sort of..!! The hydraulics work fine off of the wing switch’s..

Could it be the sensor that tells you what the %age of where the Arms height actually is, that is playing up?
I am having intermittent similar problems with a 7740SLE. The %age will suddenly flash 24, then the arms work ok on the quadrant, but not on the raise/lower switch. Not tried the wings switches though.

What causes the problem to start with is usually driving over a bump. Stop the engine and restart it, will reset it until the next bump!

I was told it is one of the lower link sensor pin is probably the culprit. Not cheap and a gas axe job to get out if it has been a while since it was last done.
I'm still saving up!

Is it busting the valve when it comes under load , are all the knobs turned fully to the right

Hi all knobs fully clockwise.. it was going fully up and kept blowing the relief valve but when I tried to calibrate it again this afternoon after doing some checks it wouldn’t come to Max height

Check fuse 12,14 and relay in fuse box for hpl if edc pin's are faulty error codes will appear on dash every time eng is started but hyds will still work in position............

Test the knobs and sensors in H9 if they work in whole range. U have my mobile call me if you need more help.
Hi thanks for your reply.. we have power at the draft control unit and all the pots are adjusting between 4.5 and 0.75 volts.. check the cross shaft position sensor and that also seems ok 4.5 to .9 volts when you move the lever
