New holland autocommand

Ours is 50k and believe me you do get the same issue. I expect your nh dealer told you that you that to try and keep you quiet. They have made a bad mistake within this gearbox and just don't want to admit it. We were spreading compost the other day and just at the change point going up hill our tractor would be pto speed with ease then it would change pack and engine instantly die to 1500 rpm then it would change back and straight up to pto speed constantly If you could just get through the pack change it would go on again fine

Reading these posts means that one should get any new tractor for a few days of on farm demo before purchasing. I did fancy a Puma 160 or a T7.200. probably look at other brands now!

We loved the good reliability of our ford's then new hollands. Now I can't say there has never been a day that we couldn't do what we wanted to do. But our 7.200 ac does my head in when ploughing and drilling slow headland turn and change in ranges. Our biggest problem is hauling maize when sticky conditions and gearbox loosing drive

T7.200 here does 1.500 hrs a year and is now on it's third year. Said it before on here and am not a fan of the blue brand by heart but the AC box is brilliant. Yes they do break but; others do and lots are sold. It was chipped last year. Now on it's fourth chip mainly due to dealer not knowing what they were doing. Transformed the tractor totally! The mid mount packed up last week but that was quickly replaced. Last year the whole front axle went bang but NH all sorted it. Especially on the big ones it's an issue. Terrible build quality. But the gearbox is going strong! Occasionally have two Puma's turn up from a neighbour. Look better, price doesn't matter much, but the controls are a long way behind NH's.

What do you mean chip messed it up?
Ours now cuts out at 50k and grinds to a Holt have to stop and start engine to get it going. Our deeres never loose drive

I have a t7.200 ac and it's fine never had any problems with power, fuel use is good, gearbox is fine and reliability is pretty good. The t7.185 before it had problems but they were all related to production and build quality which is where NH do seem to struggle.

Dealer is hoping to have new software for the smaller t7's next week it apparently will help the changing at around 11kbetween 1st and 2nd and make slowing down a lot smoother

I was contemplating ordering a new t6.160 auto command. Do the same woes apply to the smaller tractors?

we have a lot of AC T7's out and this is the first I have heard of it. They wouldn't keep selling if there were major issues. The T6 AC's are little pocket rockets, lovely tractors to drive having a sidewinder cab on a T6 is big bonus.

Remain to be convinced extra mechanical ranges in a CVT serve a real purpose (other than boasting rights...and possibly frustration judging by this thread). Surely the whole point of a CVT is seamless delivery. Less is more!

Why stick extra mechanical range in there? Doesn't really improve economy or longevity. Other brands do fine with just two.

The older generation of chips are designed for non-Adblue tractors. Fit them to an SCR machine and your bound to get issues. The newest ones don't seem to have this issue. On a T6080 we had a simple black box, plug it in and it would have the boost on full time. With the T7 the performance chip seller comes in and remaps the tractor loading new software. Lot more expensive but it works! Come to trade in, replace their software with NH's original one and it is a factory tractor again. Manufacturers say naughty naughty, especially when something goes bang the chip is blamed for but the problem is they make the thing so fuel efficient compared to previously!!

But are they long or short wheelbase. You can't give them away second hand down here

All tease bad stuff we are hearing well i had newholland for many years as i can remeber there never brake down hope that help

It must be dust off an ancient old thread day ;)

Still stand by my comment above about needless mechanical ranges in a CVT. Less is more.

In fact if you can design a box with only 1 range between 0 and 65K and make it handle 500 HP then that’s surely the way to go :whistle::ROFLMAO:

3 years on and I'd hope that CNH has rectified the issues with the gearbox's? As nearly all of the 150hp+ tractors that both our local Case and New Holland dealers are selling are now CVX/Auto Command.
