New Holland combine straw chopper

Hello again

Does anybody on here with a tx34, or other new holland with the same chopper, know how to engage it? The manual talks about putting a handle on and then just swinging it up into place, but i cannot find where the handle is supposed to attach to. So far as i understand it you have to take the straw guides off, swing the chopper up into place, put the belt on, then swing the rear spreader thing down and thats it, but ive never used a chopper before. We just want to chop bean/pea holn to increase soil organic matter, as its worth more doing that than it is baling it up.

Thanks in advance.

The clutch is an electromagnet with a switch on the side dash in the cab. The belts from the engine are under constant tension as are the belts to the chopper with the clutch in between. The whole thing is a pita and liable to fail but there are manual bars you can stick into the clutch to keep you going but the blades will then turn when the engine starts.
There is a bigish handle behind the back steps to divert the straw from swath into the chopper. You also need to fold down the spreader fins on the back and latch them in first.

The black handle needs to be pulled forward to divert straw into chopper

Sounds more like what used to be on an 80 series's combine.

I can remember our tx 36 and it's chopper was in place all the time with an electro clutch
