I'm thinking of changing my trusty cx860 (2002) and just wondering what to change it for. NH model numbers keep changing and I'm slowly losing track of what would be similar size and out put. Slightly narrower on the road would be nice and have wondered about a smaller rotary but i have a couple of customers that bale everything and like the walker machine. What should I be looking at?

We were in a similar position to you Chris a couple of years back ,
The problem is that combine price has got stupidly expensive to the point that it hasn't been cost effective for us to upgrade , another problem which has materialised for us us the downfall of OSR , gone are the days of being able get half our harvest cut by the first week of August and with the reality of having to cut a very high percentage of our harvest in Sept if we have a wet Aug is a thought that sends shivers down my spine . I have let the wheat combining from my customer out to a neighbour who has plenty of combine capacity , the maths adds up for us but they may not for you

Got a friend cutting 1200ac a year with a T560 JD without any issues. It was new in 2014 and other than the annual service it’s never been touched by the dealer as there’s no need. It’s a nice place to spend a day in and he’s navigating some very narrow lanes down south. Only a 20ft header though due to gateways etc.

I looked at a cr9060 last season as it was cutting next door to me. It was a bit hard to tell weather it was the combine or the crop but it was flying compared to me and smashing up what little straw there was coming out the back. We were unloading nearly as often as each other and I think my cx860 has a larger tank.

You will have to keep us informed on what you do. I would like to upgrade to something like you have when I dream.....
Being nosey, what hours and tyres are on it?
