New Holland dynamic command

about time they replace the electro shift
Just wondering why you say that, not that I've ever owned one but have driven them and it seems a nice straightforward gearbox that anyone can jump on and drive without needing a lot of instruction in how to use it. I undesrtsand that there's demand for gearboxes with more features but these tend to need an experienced operator, surely there's also a place for a simple jump on and drive gearbox too.

the quality of gear changes and shuttle change is not good enough for a modern tractor and the whine and noise coming from them are not good either. weve had 5 wont have another with that gear box

As the box is it’s not too bad if dated but have NH changed the user interface of it at last?. It was quite good in the 40/TS but the 6000 on the mechanical move from 8-9 just takes the stick to far away and the two stupid buttons on the console are just in the wrong place!!

Seen the grassmen video about it, I really like the look of it. CNH's version of JD's direct drive from what I can gather.

I really liked the idea of it being a cartridge that looks very easy to remove for repairs, as we run second hand equipment and keep all repairs in house this sort it thing really appeals to me.

backwards step....many had full powershift options 20 years ago
But they were never particularly big sellers. Again, my driving experience is limited to booking up to a machine to move around the yard but it didn't strike me as being an ideal gearbox option moving up and down through all the gears, since then CVT's have become more popular and would seem to me to be a better option than the full power shift, my MF7480 is certainly an easy to drive tractor even for those with no previous experience of a CVT.
Not that such a gearbox is necessary for a lot of jobs, indeed a simple semi power shift will handle most jobs, with dare I say it, the emphasis being on the simple. A lot of semi power shifts are getting more complicated to set up and use which may be fine for some operators/jobs but they're not for everyone.
It's a funny old world when my 7480 is actually an easier tractor for someone to jump on and drive than my 5613 with dyna4
