New holland front suspension problem

I think the whole tyre pressures thing is some rubbish thought up by manufacturers with fundamentally crap suspension systems. JD is comfy whatever the situation.

I have to say I think my t6080 did permanent damage to my hips it was that uncomfortable! Funny thing is the front suspension/ cab suspension on the cheaper electro command model s is superior in every respect!

Really? I always thought the suspension on our T6080 was average, until I drove a local contractors T6.175 - bloody awful. Even with 650's and the pressures set on all tyres the ride comfort was dreadful, made driving our 6080 feel like a luxury car.
You'd think with the current tractor price New Holland/Case would atleast try and match the ride comfort level's of their competition.

My T6090 seems fine on the road at 50k, no issues at all.
Did have a cable chewed through and that stopped it working, I noticed that as the ride was dire. But to be fair even when not working it was a darn sight better than the old 7840 we had. I think we are spoilt in this day and age.

So what tyre pressures are you guys running? Gonna have a look tomorrow what I'm set at and if not gonna be too low let some wind out see if it helps.....

Michelin have produced a very simple easy to use tyre pressure calculator app for both Apple and Android phones.

The pressure recommendations are for their own often low pressure for high load tyres, but if you specify something like omnibibs, the results apply to most other brands.

As a rough guide, without front ballast you'll only need 12 or 14psi in the front tyres for 50kph.

Had a quick look at the nh t7.210 today and the fronts were 18psi and the rear were 20psi. Kleber tyres all around. Whats everyone else running at to help the ride comfort?

Had a look this morning I'm on 20 and 22 so gonna drop them down to 18 and 20 and see if I see an improvement ...

What front ballast / rear implement / towed equipment are you traveling with?

Using the very simple Michelin tyre pressure app will tell you what pressures to run at instead of guess work.

Without front ballast and pulling a straw blower, you'll only need 12f 14r psi at 50kph for example.

With a tonne of front ballast and pulling a fully loaded 12t grain trailer, you'll need 28f 23r psi ( approximate values ).

2 psi difference won't make any odds if you're double the pressure you need to be.

Hard to say really can have anything from 3ton slurry reeler on the front and 5 ton on the back to nothing on the front and a muck trailer on the back generally changes every day so impossible to change it to suit each job just need a happy medium ....

If you aim for a happy medium you will always be disappointed. You're throwing money away as well.

Yep. Why spend 5 grand on tyres and misuse them?
It's not really practical to alter tyre pressure for every job in most situations. Our main tractor will often be doing two or three different types of work in a day. Anything from road haulage to fert spreading to slurry tanking.

Might spend 5 grand on tyres but can also soon spend £5 grand in time inflating and deflating tyres to get another 500hours out of them..... my last set lasted 5500hours so I must be treating them reasonable okay?

£5k in time? Are you using a bicycle pump? It takes a maximum of 5 minutes to alter 4 tyres here. What value do you put on the impact incorrectly inflated tyres has on the land? Or operator comfort?
