I wonder if you have an early model or if they are set up different here versus other countries...., every one that I've ran that is the button you push after seatbelt is hooked and engine running ,to unlock drive system.....

I believe you can program a code that has to be entered before starting. Then you use those buttons to enter the code the same sort of way you used to text on old phones.

All a skidsteer should have is 2 joysticks and a third service switch nothing else
Notice that you have a leaning towards simpler skidsteer loaders,... I was in your shoes one day..... what I'm picking up is that we could both have some similar stories from years past ,ie balking loaders that didn't work when you needed them and such :banghead::facepalm:

I’ve a Thomas 175 that could do with being changed for a new one.. but it’s quite hard to find a nice nearly new one that starts just by turning a key that’s just hand controls with no glass or stupid Perspex so you can’t see sideways and most importantly one that dosnt beep at you

The beeping is there to keep you safe.
NH still offer models with mechanical major controls rather than electric joysticks. They do however have the nasty emission control equipment on the engines of the latest ones to complicate things badly. Cats and soot filters along with ultra high pressure injectors with solenoid on them. Oh dear!

Have you priced a skid steer up lately? That emissions garbage has had a disproportionate effect on this type of machine's pricing in my opinion.
I paid £11500 for my skid steer in 2001, which should mean no higher cost than £18500 today according to an inflation calculator. In fact the equivalent machine today costs, I believe, around £25,000.

My dad bought my Thomas 175 new with a bucket brush 6foot grab and spare bucket for........£12000!!! It’s at around 7000hours now

Mustang brand was very popular here in my local area for years, lots of small dairy farms and poultry depended on them, compact, reliable and simple machine....til Gehl bought the company and utterly ruined them with electronics and such, faulty controllers and so forth

Hi, sorry to hi jack this post just noticed your buttons seemed similar to mine could anyone tell me how I work the 3rd service? The skid steer (L160) is pipped and the sales man told up the last owner had a grab on it, it’s pilot control and there’s no buttons on the right (loader) joystick and 2 on the left one being the indicators and the other feels like it should be the horn and has no affect on hydraulics

Hi we have a l185 and third service is operated by the top of right hand lever been tilted sideways.
It’s an awesome bit of kit had it 6 months and love it!

Thanks I’ll have to change hoses off something again and give it another go, we got ours in May to replace a early bobcat we’d bought to push up silage but once having one we realised how much we could use it for only it didn’t have the lifting power or reliability so upgraded, absolutely love mine wouldn’t be without it now
