Just done this pricing, fendt 516 was 9k more than Jd 6130r, only spec difference was slightly more hp and no air brakes, jd standard warranty one year full further year engine, fendt 5 years full so all in all not that much between them. Ordered a jd as preferred the cab and jd been more reliable than fendt here over the years

Friend runs a 720 but has just bought a T6.165 as a more basic tractor but he loves it, £65k on farm.
Says he can’t justify replacing the 720 with another when it’s time to change because prices are ridiculous.

Valtra N174 Direct. Comparing the NH & Fendt isn't really fair as you only have the NH if you don't want to spend as much on finance each month. I went for the Valtra rather than the 516 for several reasons. The Valtra has a better engine, much nicer laid out back end, better tyre options, a nicer cab and I think it looks much better as well. I never got a quote for the Fendt but I doubt there is much in it as over a quarter of the Valtras price was optional extras. If you are buying a tractor new then a few hundred pounds more per month is nothing in the big scheme of things, spend your money make your choice.

I was actually thinking the full spec NH might not be far off the Fendt so worth a thought. I can’t justify tens of thousands on comfort alone, I wish I could.

Gawd, there is always one... o_O
Power shift is in B range and auto when doing yard work stacking bales ect and and when you n the road C-D auto but when you need to slow down with a load over a hill ect pull back on the stick instantly back into Manuel so you can hold it back ;):):)

valtra vario is still in 4 ranges so I can’t see the point

About £90k, basic model no guidance or front pto, when I have checked here the warranty was 5 years or 3000 hrs but some scary servicing costs quoted 2k for main one☹️

A 130r needs a bit more power to keep up with a 516, JD are missing a trick by not having a directly comparable model imo.

Your right, but in the Claas equivalent with the jd engine it runs up to 165 hp, so it must be safe to erm up the jd using the right guy, not that I would entertain that....honest.

Gonna be a bit different here but id have the fendt. If ur goin spec for spec ther really isnt much in it and fendt will definitely be worth more second hand than a nh jd massey valtra with vario.also small things like the quality of the paint compared to other brands is tremendous. Was drivin a 820 today which is a fair age like early 2000s and no rust to be seen even on rims and this tractor sits outside most of the time. The steerin is also alot better than a 50k jd which is awful. If ur wantin a high spec tractor i think the fendt is a no brainer. The nh wont be near the same quality with bad brakes, 4wd bearings, electric spools, and the tranny is not even close to fendt. Imho its only a heap o ****
