Yea had some ad blue sensors go on mine as well but the ad blue system is fairly generic to lots of manufacturers and they all give trouble,,,,,,
That's true, all I can go by is my experience. We have had 4 engines that require add blue, 2 deutz, 2 fpt and the score for add blue problems stand at deutz 0, fpt 1.

I went to look at a used tractor this week and almost the first thing the sales man said was ' it is not add blue' , kinda told me a lot, it had a fpt engine.

Been told Its easy to delete ad blue on fpt engines. Easier than replacing sensors. Our t4b 260 has had 2 under warranty. The t4a hasn't had any 5300 hours.

Yea in my book no ad blue is a bonus on any engine I just cannot see the benefit in any shape or form to me or the environment

Don't normally hear of any issues with adblue on fpt engines. They have a lot more experience with it after all. They make around 500000 engines per year. Deutz has only made 500000 from 1967 to now and sisu only make around 50000 per year. Says it all really as to which engine breed is used in the most applications by lots of other companies.

Another one for the engine enthusiasts (FPT knockers) is that class have moved from the unreliable JD engines in their larger models to FPT powered engines and as already stated previously JD themselves have switched in certain models as well

If you look at the spec for the 516 and can see yourself using the functions and tech it offers then go for it as theres nothing that can match them for versatility in my opinion. They are built well yes but not a patch on what they were in the 90’s/2000’s although we are not having major issues on the 8 we run, 720 with 10500 hrs alternator and cab fan, brakes binding on another, 936 has had a pressure valve on vario grip and intercooler pipe split in 3900hrs.
Ive tried nh’s and they are not a bad tractor but you can tell they are built to a budget. I tried a T315hd that was brand new and it rattled and squeaked and banged more than the 4 year old challenger i was on at the time. The cab was not great either, it felt cramped and you couldnt swing the seat around far enough without the armrest hitting the side panel. Hopefully the newer 8 series cab will filter down to the T7

The benefit to you is that it isn't using any EGR or DPF.

Benefit to the environment should be obvious what with the lack of smog and acid rain nowadays....
In theory you are correct, but there was a scientist on here a few months ago quoting ad blue is a benefit in towns built up areas etc but a cost to the environment in farming areas and I tend to agree that’s without the extra manufacturing costs involved of components the ad blue itself all the transport of products etc remember the manufacture of all these products have there own environmental impact then there is all the replacement parts to do with emission controls not to mention all the extra engine failures due to emission controls running engines hotter etc mechanics in vans running about everywhere pumping out more emissions then there is all the particles caught in all these fancy exhausts? Where does that go when you actually think about I,m not sure there is an actual benefit to the environment

Got 2 Contractors near here.
One was all JD and has replaced nearly all of them with JCB 4220 Fatracs.
The other has always been NH and never anything else. Bloke's fall over themselves to want to work for him.

Then the other side of him the is a Contract Farmer, who until 5 years ago had everything JD, then went over to Fendt.
He can't praise them enough. Yet every time I go there, there is always a dealer's van in the yard and the fitter is usually doing something with the engines.
Funnily enough, his email address still has "alljd" in it!
And he now runs 2 NH combines.

That's the thing, if i was living in my tractor like you seem to do, I would pay the extra and buy the fendt. Our tractors only do 1k-1200 hours per year so not heavy users.

New Hollands are far from perfect, but they get the job done here. Are fairly reliable, great local dealer. Not the worst place to spend a day.

What tech does a 516 have that can't be specced on a NH? Genuine question as there was nothing I can think of when we looked. In fact the base spec was lower on the Fendt, though it was a T7 and really we should have been comparing it with a 716/718.

I can't answer for anyone else, but for me, the large oil flow, separate oil tank, 10" screen( don't get me started on the pro 700 or the way the cvx is operated) and all the other things that came with the 516 made it for us, in our application, yes I could have bought the nh 7 series/puma but that is a much larger framed machine and came with all sorts of draw backs for me.

Any how, the diff between a 516 profi plus and a 150 hp case spect as close as poss was way way less than 20k
