New Holland T7 unusual rattle/chatter

Hoping someone on here could shed some light before I have to do some more in-depth digging.. Last couple of days my tractor has been making a chatter while driving, only in the 1500 to 1800rpm area, and only under load or slowing down in that rev range... Doesn’t seem to be engine related as no noise at any revs in neautral. Also it goes away if you tap brakes, or hit 4wd button.

Can’t feel anything through cab floor vibrating etc. Hoping it’s nothing too drastic :(

Only other unusual point is it doesn’t do it when tractor is cold. Usually the first hour in its quiet then starts on the road

Also... it’s only at certain rev points? Flat out she’s silent and runs sweet. That’s what I can’t understand, surely a prop shaft thing should be at any movement?
Craw underneath and have a look. How often do you grease the prop?

Did last night but couldn’t see anything untoward... you’ve worried me now, I don’t think I’ve personally greased it at all...:wideyed:

Certainly not part of my routine grease up!! So probably only been done at service time till now.... Might bang some in her now and see if it makes any difference at all...

Looking underneath all I can see I terms of nipples is the one just near the front suspension nipple on a large round bearing I assume at the front of the prop. Which I have done as part of my usual grease up.

I’ve topped it up again so will see what it’s like tomorrow on the road.

On my 190 there is a very hard to get one on the prop shaft at the rear of it.
Have discovered that you lift front wheels off ground with front linkage. Leave handbrake off (chock rear wheels) spin one wheel so you can get to nipple.
No idea if it is related but I do mine every 50hrs, as shaft went on my previous 6080 but thankfully not when on the road .

On my Lambo the source of a similar chatter or tapping was a failed bearing in the gearbox. A sort of regular clickety clickety or tappety tappety sound, worse once it had warmed up, was under load or you applied the brakes. Best I did was wait till it turned into a graunch just the once. Then it was easy to find on stripdown. The bearing cage had broken up and all the balls were at one side. I was lucky.
I hope it isn’t that. Have you checked all the obvious things like loose pick up hitch rattling underneath?

Is that a grease here sticker? Mines never had that for sure. Absolutely crazy idea if it’s a routine place to grease

Thanks. That’s what I’m hoping, it does sound more rearward that the prop shaft seems to be. Very hard to pinpoint, will check hitch etc another good shout (y)
