New holland TL100A pto hook up

We recently purchased a New holland TL100A
When trying to attach the pto shaft of an implement to the tractor it always difficult to line splines up so it slides straight on

I always have to start stop pto to get a position where it slides straight.
Anyway around this ?

Tractor is new Holland TL100A standard
There is only 540 speed on the pto.
See picture on selector below.
In position as shown is slow start
Forward position I think is ground drive but question is where is neutral so I can attach pto shaft so splines line up and perhaps I can turn the shaft.

Now Then..
I recently had dealings with one of these.. Is there 3 positions to the selector lever where the centre one is neutral?? Try it in the centre and see if you can turn the shaft by hand. From an HSE point of view, you should always turn the engine off while connecting the PTO shaft..

It seems your tractor is the same as mine, mechanical shuttle lever to the side of the seat, only one PTO speed, is there another lever between the yellow one and the seat, this is the creeper box which gives 20F and 12R gears. The odd times I tried to put something on the PTO it would never turn, but I am after trying it there now again when the tractor was switched of and it turns by hand but it is very stiff, but still turns.

I had another look at this today.
When lever is at rear its 540 pto
In the middle its netural
And full forward its ground drive.
The pto lever in my tractor is quite stiff so I sprayed some wd40 around the linkage's on down behind the inner mudyard (diesel tank side) as these is where the rod goes into the gearbox to inguage.
It did help sort the problem as you can now select 3 locations with the lever

When you no longer using pto is it best to put pto in netural.
I keep it in the 540 location turned off.
There is a pto brake to stop it turning
If pto is in netural the shaft still seems to turn a slight bit of it's own accord

We have a TL70a. Same pto. 540 and ground speed.

Pto spins freely.....but ONLY after the tractor has been turned off for a bit of time. Around 1-2mins plus. Sometimes a little more.

Hydraulic operated I think so takes a while for it "release" so to speak.
