New Holland TM 150 power command transmission problem

I have a New Holland TM 150 which keeps jumping out of gear. The error code CP comes up. I have tried to calibrate but it won't let me. The error code f27 comes up.

Any ideas?

May not be the same. But my tm150 powercommand kept jumping out of gear. Turned out to be the forward reverse shuttle lever knackered. New one cured it. Don't remember any error codes though.

The tractor does it in any gear, forward or reverse. Could be doing 40k and it just jumps to neutral with the CP code. If you turn the tractor off and on again it might go for an hour and not do it.

F27 is the speed sensor on the damper, check this because if it doesn't get a reading you lose all gears. It could be a sign the damper plate is on the way out but I would just change the sensor first.

Is the speed sensor on the bell housing at the left side of the tractor beside the diesel tank or on the right under the cab beside steps?

That's what mine done, can't remember if it had cp up when it done it though. Dealer checked the shuttle and found it faulty.

That would be the cheapest part to replace first. Take it out and have a look at it. If it's damaged then damper plate will be breaking up. If it looks ok then damper plate most likely ok, give it a clean and try it. Used to do that with our 165 occasionally. Also check cab earths. Large earth strap right hand side rear of cab and also small earth cable attached to back of spool block. Bad earth causes all sorts of weird problems.

Where is the speed sensor located. There is a sensor on the bell housing beside diesel tank. Is that the one?

That's the one, near side of bell housing by diesel tank. From memory need a posi screwdriver head on a little ratchet to get it undone then just pulls out. Has an oring on it

So just an update on the tractor. Took the speed sensor out this morning and cleaned it with a cloth. I did notice a few metal filings on it but it wasn't damaged. I hauled slurry for 4 hours with no problems. So far so good. I then took the sensor out again this evening and there was more metal filings on it. Would that be an indication the damper plates breaking up?

I haven't had experience of a damper going so I'm not sure about the filings, I was told when you switch the engine off you can hear a rattle from the bell housing area when it's on the way out, the other warning sign was the speed sensor.

Yes damper plate definatly rattles if getting knackered. I ignored it when the TM135 started doing that. Eventually it went altogether while ploughing. Losing drive, steering and hydraulics as well. It had about 6000hrs on it at the time.

Damper will need to be replaced at some point, once it goes so far the centre hub will shear off cutting all drive to the transmission. Probably bits of spring in the bell housing getting tossed about causing filings but they don't always rattle at all.

My TM 125 is starting to make that rattling sound on the road at sub 1600 revs as you go up through the gears. Damper was done at 5000 hrs. Like a clock it's doing it again. I'm told the part isn't dear, but I recall my dealer Charging me a horrendous bill the last time. Think it was two grand or more but not sure. What should it cost?
