£100/m was discussed in another thread recently I think.

Seems a case of take a figure, double it and add some noughts.

You’ll only ever really know enough to make that decision by asking the distribution company.

It will depend on many factors such as whether a new transformer or upgrade is required, possible wayleave costs if the line has to cross other people's land. It will also depend on the network operator in your area and how generous or not they feel on the day of the quote. The only way you will find out is to get a quote - the good thing about this is that it's free & they have to itemise the quote so it makes it easier to bargain with them.

Its a new connection,so maybe a transformer required ,dep depends if there ii enough power to fulfil requirements, could be anything from 5 to 50 grand

If the pole was on your land why no put the meter there in a little shed built to their spec and then go from there yourself. Bound to save a fortune on the cost of them doing it.
If the land is not yours maybe the owner would give you wayleave at a reasonable cost.
This is what i done, saved a fortune. They'll probably tell you the transformer needs upgrading to run any more off it and anything else they can think of. Get them out for a site visit and hope to god you get a tidy guy whos sensible and knows his stuff

the 3 different sites im thinking of are all connecting to the same line and its 3 phase, the only difference is the distance from the line ones 600m away but a better site, ones 50m and ones about 100m
I be asking planning first up to what the chances are first ,because they might say no ,save yourself the pain and have a informal chat with them ,down here they charge 250 quid for preplanning advice

I paid £2.5k to get 3ph down a pole and 10yards. No transformer and all digging, enclosure buildingand conduit done by us.
I paid about half of that for moving meter closer to pole, into a new purpose built house. Pole to house was 2 meters max.

We need to charge them more for way leave over our ground.

Should add that I have heard of cases where the quote jumped quite a bit after it's expiry date, so getting a quote too early could be a bad move.

Just ask for the itemised quote to get the justification for the price increase - if they are taking the pre then you can report them to Ofgem. The normal reasons for price increase is material costs going up or capacity issues have arisen since the previous quote.
