Has anyone got an opinions on the above. Been recommended to use K rend which is then coloured. Anyone used it? Do we just render it normally and then paint?

I used K rend on the front of my house, the old rendering was cracked and coming away so had it redone.
New scratch coat on first then a plastic mesh layer that binds the rendering together and prevents future cracking.
Will have been on 8 years this year and colour is still as good as when it went on. Once you start putting paint on it will be a job that needs repeating. The point of K rend is you shouldn’t need to paint it.

i think it needs expansion joints though which looks crap

I am sure I used to hear that Parex renders were cheaper

On the advice of a trusted plasterer I am having mine done in base coat K rend and then painting it rather than top coat K rend. Simply because the top coat is the expensive bit and messy.

For a cheap job you can cement render and paint or for the best job you can K-rend
