New JD 6M

Has anyone any experience of the new 6M? Starting to look seriously at changing my loader tractor and the new slanty bonnet 6090M powerquad seems to fit the bill. Current tractor is a t6010 with q36 loader, plan would be to use the same loader jib on the new tractor. a t5 dual power would be the other option, but thinking a t5 would be a step down from a t6000 (maybe i am wrong?). The 6M has the same engine displacement and wheelbase as my current tractor (which suits my work well), thoughts?

I’m not a Deere man,but there’s nothing to criticise on a 6M,neighbour has a 6110.It’s miles too expensive for what it is,and I would worry about engine cooling if you work it hard a lot.T5 auto or dynamic command would be the NH equivalent which would be my choice(basically a short wheelbase T6)

are the t5 dynamic command built in basildon with the t6 then? if so sounds like what im after. i try to avoid their italian tractors tbh as had bad experiences with them.

T6. And T7 are built in Basildon.
T5 are built in Italy.

The T5060/5070 were a hell of a tractor, but the T5. falls short in my opinion
Thats what i assumed, but the t5 dynamic command has a t6 engine and all sorts so made me wonder whether it was italian or basildon. Never had experience with a t5060/70 but had bad experience with a TL90. T5 im not really decided on, they seem a bit too flimsy and lightweight to me (just like the old TL) or at least the dual power ones do, maybe i need to get a closer look at a dynamic command one

I don’t know where it’s built,but think of the T5 as a T6 cos it has the cab,engine and both axles from the old T6 with either a cvt or the dynamic command gearbox.I think they are missing a trick calling it a T5 because it really isn’t one.May not be much cheaper than a slanty nosed Deere tho.

Tbh it wouldnt have to be much cheaper if its the right tool for the job. i kind of understand why deeres are expensive to buy, its the parts prices that put me off, even for old models (i know it will amaze some but JDs break just the same as any other make) CNH i find very reasonable for parts in comparison.

Has anyone driven a t5 autocommand? never really considered it before (bit of a change from my dual power) but always been a fan of autocommand on t7's, and seems like it would make the t5 a good loader tractor. id be a bit concerned about cvt drivetrain power loss on such a small tractor, hence the question

Had a quick drive of the T5 with the new 8 speed dual cultch gearbox

Must say the gearbox makes it a bloody nice tractor to drive

Not sure it's balanced or heavy enough for the size of front loader it can be fitted with, and the cramped cab and near vertical steps make it uninviting to enter, but it's very pleasant once you're in

6M Deere has better forward vision, and it's a much nicer cab though

a quick chat with the jd dealer has pretty much ruled out the 6090m powerquad as a t5.110 dynamic command is cheaper, and obviously a much more advanced gearbox.

the weight and balance concerns me slightly, although on paper its no lighter than my t6010, and a q36 isnt a big loader anyway

pondering whether it might be worth going for the autocommand over the dynamic command as it does a lot of loader work, but a bit worried about the power loss for hailing bales etc.

Aye the hydrostat will lose some power and be slower hauling bales on the hills.....

However if you're already thinking along the lines of a "gearless" loader tractor, then most definitely go for it

I've this wee hydrostatic gearbox loader tractor, because I can....

Once you've driven a loader on the throttle pedal only, no brakes, no jerks between gears, you NEVER want to worry that a fixed ratio gearbox might be slightly faster up a hill 🤫😂

We have one of the new 6110m I really rate it, we had one of the new model 5115r and was a bag of shite so dealer did us a good deal to change it. Saw in the farmers weekly a bit ago there about 80000 outright!
