No likey but its free so I haven't got the righto moan about it but if it helps....nothing fits on my screen, threads are about three feet wide and adverts overlay the boards.
Is this the first time you have been on since the update? Sounds like a potential clash with the old forum software, might help to clear your web browser cache and restart your browser and try again.

It has a few weeks and I still don't like it. But hey, I recognize it had to be done and I can leave if I feel so inclined.
My suggestions would be to bring back thrending threads. Yes I know it's here but it doesn't seem to work like it used to. Threads appearing that have zero replies.
Get rid of the thingy on top of the screen that stays in place when scrolling or make it an option.
The old way of enlarging photo's worked way better. Tap to enlarge, tap again to go make it smaller again.
Bring back the old smileys.

Like I said, I don't have any right to moan, just suggesting.

ATM, the crap on the R/H side of the screen takes up 1/3 of the total screen. Could it be reduced to a 1/4 ? Would make a big difference.

It you are running a screen resolution of that small then the sidebar is planned to disappear completely. We have it working in development, so just waiting to more it to live with a few other fixes.

Thanks for those - we are constantly evolving. So you know trending threads is now based on how many likes a thread has in the last week. So using reactions as a matter of importance. Therefore a thread with no replies can still be "trending". Threads with the most replies aren;t necessarily the most popular, could just be two friends chatting. Basically there is no effect way to do it and we can adjust going forward.

Smileys are most definitely a work in progress - we want you to be able to use the one's from a mobile keyboard eventually.

I've given up with it , adapt to it and live with it .

Shame as it was working perfectly before

It was anything but perfect before

Lots didn’t work and members complained

Oddly we had one of busiest days ever last week so overall I think it’s fair to say most are finding it ok

We continue to work and invest in improving things however. It may all look easy and free ...... but it’s really not

But there will be no situation where everyone is happy

What device is this again ? Must be a very small screen (in which case the side bar disappears complexly on basically anything smaller than a 13” Mac) ) or a bigger screen VERY odd screen resolution / maybe an old device ??

What you are seeing certainly doesn’t represent what most users are seeing by sounds of things

I think that comments predates the last style update. Its a 1/5th on my screen on a smaller laptop and as you say disappears totally in V2 on anything tablet sized in landscape format.

So you think it's better ?

I know its better, much better, I know stuff that hasn't worked for some time now works, I know there is more emoji's and more screen used for content and less for ads, I know that I can now embed and link content from far more sources, that multiple picture upload works again with modern browsers, that we have proper "push" notifications, hover over thread preview, emoticon options in line with other sucessful social media more functionality on ignore of content or users BUT most importantly of all far more stable and secure scalable hosting

I also know the site is as busy / busier than ever and that a lot of people have told us they do like it and appreciate the significant investment of time and cash that has gone into it

but I also know you don't like it

That's probably because alerts are no longer automatic , everyone now has to refresh the page every 2 minutes .

It's all about traffic .

we really don't need more traffic, we have it coming out of our ears frankly - if you think its as simple as the more pages we serve the more ££ we make you oversimplify something you clearly have very limited understanding off

The reason for the upgrade was simple - V1 was broke and on borrowed time. V2 fixes that and has many more features that some do appreciate. Our old hosting solution was a cobbled together amateur attempt never designed to cope with the volume of traffic loads we regularly get, what we have now it gold standard industry best and fit for the future

we have proper push notifications no, like the ones that microsoft, facebook. twitter and a few other unsuccessful websites use ! - we didn't have them in the past

we can turn the red dot alert auto refresh on but it will slow down the site and you will probably just complain about that instead

Please yourself , you always have done .

couldn't be more wrong. We spend our days trying to please the majority, fix problems and make it what ever they want it to be

if it was how I would have it it would be VERY deferent and you really would hate it !
