New legs for grain silo

Hi all

Anyone know where I can get some pressed steel leg extensions like this …. ?

want to make the exit chute higher off the ground.
Any Google search for grain bin leg results in a big elevator !!

How long do you want the extensions. Most fabricators would be able to get some formed.

Guess we need to extend by about 1.5 m

Going to encase the legs in concrete now to get the desired height…

I assumed these were an ‘off the shelf’ profile that was widely available …. Turns out it’s all done by the bin manufacturer…

just be careful, the wind loading can be quite high and you certainly do not want it to collapse

This ^^ When you see the extensions from the manufacturer they are well braced.

The original bin manufacturer should be able to assist and calculate the bracing required as well, assuming they are still in business...

Steel channel (with flat plate welded across it to carry the foot) does fit inside the pressed legs.
Add a few cross bracings and you're sorted.
