So new lockdown until at least February by the sounds of it!
In the first full lockdown there was a 10k grant scheme for rateable businesses, anyone know if there will be another during this lockdown?

Where are you based.
Devolved powers different possibly.
What business/businesses have you?
I’m in the northwest uk, the first round of grants we got 10k for our caravan facilities as it’s rateable although out of season now really but worth a try if there’s anonymous round in the pipeline. Also currently losing a lot of income as my work at local airport is on reduced hours, they’ve gone from 93 to just 16 flights a week! Could even be closed again by the end of the week after tonight’s announcements, it’s a big chunk of income!

I never got a penny for any of the cost ,headache or mental stress of foot and mouth disease.

Just saying
I wouldn’t usually bother, however every bugger and his dog is currently getting paid 80% of the wages to sit at home plus all the other business that are claiming something and will probably never pay it back! So if I can get something I’m going to try as one way or another I’ll end up paying it back and then some!!!

If you are self employed, and made a profit last year, would you not have been eligible for support on that scheme?

As the lockdown has only just been announced, almost as a knee jerk reaction, I very much doubt any business support schemes have been detailed yet.

We found the self employed scheme limited if you had multiple sources of income. It played them off against each other and in the end said sod off your not entitled despite making a profit

Not Ltd here, but that’s the reason I didn’t qualify for anything either. I would imagine that would be the case for most small businesses tbh, whatever the sector. Can’t have it both ways I suppose...
I wasn’t expecting to get anything the first time round, infact we didn’t until the government told our local council to relax the criteria for who was eligible because they still had around 11 million in unclaimed grant funding! I think they thought if they rejected everyone’s claim they got to split it between themselves 😂
