To be fair the 57 range would of been a better comparison if they would put a vario transmision in them...
Generally Fendt has a bad name for being expensive where the reality is that you pay for what you get and the fact is that vario transmissions are expensive regardless of brand.
I've had Fendt's for a decade now and yeah going back to the older tractors with gears just sucks.

It was a 5713 I was replacing.

There's even the 200 Vario. I'd love a 5S with Dyna Vt, Cvt is just superior for loader work.
Don't mention the 200 vario😶 While cvt's are good for loader work they're awful if the tractor needs to do something else like drawing bales. Massey really should have made Dyna VT an option on the 5s though, not that i would buy one but still, there is a market for it.

2 out of our 3 tractors are cvt and if we'll ever swap anything out we'll get a third cvt.

Why’s that?
Well, judging by how the 7480 is on the bale trailer i'd imagine something smaller and 4 cylinder would be awful on that. Mate also says their valtra N154 direct doesnt go much faster than 30k most of the time drawing 17 bales so that kinda gives ye an idea too.

Can’t say that’s my experience, but each to their own. What I particularly like with the vario loader is that there’s no clutch to wear.
Clutch wear hasn’t really been an issue since the introduction of power shuttle

Previous to that, I was linked to the quality of clutches fitted, when we had a 290 on loader duties it would need a clutch every 500 hours, it’s replacemt, a 3065 would do about 4000 hours on a clutch, never touched one as yet Ona power shuttle despite having done far more hours than that.

Majority of loader work here is now done with a tele handler, so I may never have to have a clutch changed again

Our JD 6430 will do 55km/h on 17 bale trailer. :censored: And on 16m³ of wet sh!t.

What do you mean drawing bales? like carting bales cause I had a 211 before I got the 313 and I'll be honest it was a beast. It did everything from sowing with a 3m power harrow drill to spreading muck with a 8ton muck spreader up hill no less. Even did the ploughing without breaking a sweat. If it had a loader on it, it would still be on the farm. It got up to 43.5kph with everything at 1850rpm Even on the hill it still managed to get up faster than any of my other geared tractors could dream of.

No 50k in the 300’s isn’t that right?
